Laura hot stone reflexology

Hot stone reflexology is the incorporation of heated basalt rocks with the specific purpose to stimulate Reflex points found in the feet. Basalt stones are used because they retain heat well and the ancients believe these lava rocks have nurturing, cleansing, and healing effects on the body.

Large stones are used to warm and massage the feet and legs, whilst small stones work reflex points and more specific areas. They are heated at a controlled temperature and are only applied to the skin at a comfortable temperature.

Cool stones may also be used during a reflexology treatment and may help, for example, with:

  • Easing inflammation
  • Headaches
  • Sinus congestion
  • Muscle strain
  • Improves immune function
  • Invigorating and refreshing

For an invigorating treatment, or to soothe headaches and injuries and ease pain and sinus congestion, cold stones may be used to replace the hot stones benefits;

  • Increased blood circulation & lymphatic drainage

    • Heat penetrates to a much deeper level than finger pressure

    • Promotes the release and elimination of toxins

    • Boosts immunity and lymphatic function

    • Relieves tension in connective tissues

  • Aids relaxation
